1245 New Jersey breaks ground in 2010 as the
“Greenest Affordable Home in Kansas.” For the first time, TTH will
surpass Energy Star to construct a super energy efficient dome house
modeled after green innovations from the Greensburg rebuilding effort.
In keeping with TTH’s commitment to quality workforce housing, 1245 New
Jersey will provide the greatest possible energy efficiency for a
homebuyer’s dollar in Kansas. TTH is excited to continue using creative
architecture and advanced building techniques using Structurally
Insulated Panels (SIPs). The SIP shell will be constructed by Michael
Morley of SipSmart, Inc.
The Rhode Island Roost is a five–unit townhome development that began in 2009 and is set for completion in Spring 2010. These townhomes will serve as low-cost rental housing for families that are actively building their credit and/or reducing debt in preparation for purchasing a Housing Trust Home. By charging less than fair market rent and referring tenants to Housing and Credit Counseling Inc. for budget advice, TTH will offer families an opportunity to regain control of their finances and their housing options.
The ARO Tax Credit Affordable Rental Project is a unique opportunity to acquire and rehabilitate 20 fully accessible units that are currently fully occupied, but in need of repairs and upgrades after years of deferred maintenance. Once updated, these rentals will better serve the crucial need for safe, affordable and accessible rental housing.
